Full Job Description
Reporting to the Manufacturing Team Leader, the Skilled Operator is responsible for all activities associated with final product assembly, testing, NDE. This role requires that you travel to UK, overseas and offshore installations on behalf of Celeros Flow Technology to perform service/maintenance contracts on an as required basis., To ensure that all aspects of manufacturing, including assembly and testing, are efficiently controlled, and successfully completed in the required timescales, to satisfy customer and Company requirements.
Operate machinery when possessing the necessary training / experience and take part in the multi-skilling objective operating within the company.
Responsibility for maintaining quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Work in an efficient and organised way, managing non-productive time to avoid unnecessary costs to the business.
Assist with factory maintenance programmes and maintain a clean, efficient, and tidy work area.
Assist in packing, stores and paint areas when necessary to meet business requirements.
When requested, this role requires that you travel to UK, overseas and offshore installations on behalf of GD to perform service/maintenance contracts. This will require offshore survival training and medicals.
At the company's discretion, you will be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime to meet both company and customer requirements., Required daily to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, and see (specific close vision abilities are required to perform computer work)
Required occasionally to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
Required daily to use hands and fingers and arms to reach (to operate a computer and telephone)
Required occasionally to lift and/or move objects that are light to moderate
Required occasionally to travel (usually by air or road so may be required to sit for extended periods)
Strong industrial experience within a similar role and/or Time served apprentice.
A sound mechanical engineering background - HNC or Higher preferred (but not essential)
Highly organised with excellent communication and time management skills.
Education and Experience
HNC or Higher in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.
Similar industry working environment is highly desirable
You must have valid right to work in the UK to apply for this role., Ability to work with moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone, and printers, etc.)
Ability to work in an open planned office / individual office
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods
Ability to sit in a car or on a plane for extended periods
