Full Job Description
Fantastic opportunity to work for a leading FM service provider situated in Portsmouth. CBW are currently recruiting for a Head of Hard FM & Projects to be based on a healthcare contract in Portsmouth. The successful candidate will report into the Account Director and is expected to provide senior leadership to the technical service delivery across the site. The role would be suitable for someone with experience at operating at a senior level within operational teams, and ideally have experience of managing technical services in a healthcare environment, understanding HBN's and HTM's. The post holder will lead the technical compliance and assurance function, and the senior operations management team and will be expected to demonstrate a focus on the delivery of excellence and efficiency to help the already successful team continue to improve and deliver.
Hours of work
Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 17:00pm
Key duties & responsibilities
1. Working as part of the local management team within the business, the postholder will be expected to positively contribute to the performance, growth and profitability of the business.
2. Management of customer interface in relation to the technical compliance of the service, and provision of a consistently strong link with all key internal and external stakeholders.
3. Implement and maintain company safety procedures throughout the development process to ensure minimal risk to personnel.
4. To lead and complete the contract compliance, and effective delivery of the Technical Hard Service Facilities Management provision.
5. Deliver value for money and ensure the agreed net profit percentage is made on all Projects' and workstreams.
6. Ensure all project work activities (capital, lifecycle, major works) are carried out safely and in accordance with statutory and corporate regulations and legislation, Healthcare Standards and Specifications, Total Project Management, ensuring all Projects' are managed, operated and completed with uncompromised efficiency, on time and to budget.
7. Head steering groups for the larger project works and be the main point of contact.
8. Work with the clients and the Project management teams to maximise the opportunities that arise from the redevelopment, variation, and lifecycle projects to deliver excellent outcomes for all parties.
9. Liaise with all relevant parties involved with Projects', including working with the Client to interpret and develop a brief/scope of works in order achieving sign off prior to pipeline works commencement, planning, during the works and through to completion.
10. Develop a contract specific plan for works (including design, procurement, PPP pack review and sign off, works/construction, commissioning, training etc) for the Project' to ensure the completion date is achieved and without incident.
11. Ensure that the Company and on-site processes ensuring all relevant documentation is prepared/completed for our governance process including the provision of costs, programmes, risk analysis, PPP works documentation etc. if processes are not developed/in place this role is responsible for their design and implementation.
12. Carry out Project' review meetings in line with Project Management good practice.
13. Support the retention of ISO14001 and environmental focus to reduce carbon emissions and utilities consumption.
14. Ensure all Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations are followed where appropriate and ensure all company paperwork relevant to this is completed.
15. Demonstrate the Company's core values.
16. Keep confidential any information gained regarding the company and its personnel.
17. To provide professional technical advice and support to the contract team.
18. To ensure that the engineering services meet to a high standard and in full compliance with all statutory, mandatory, and contractual requirements.
19. To ensure that records are maintained to support the works carried out.
1. Educated to degree level or equivalent through experience in a relevant M&E discipline.
2. Demonstrable & varied experience in construction related client-side project management or operational delivery.
3. Experience of healthcare service delivery at a senior level.
4. Thorough understanding of the principles of project management for construction.
5. Excellent customer service ethic but also an ability to negotiate with, and manage, senior stakeholders.
6. Healthcare experience - Highly desirable.
7. Ability to provide professional guidance & task management for junior team members.
8. Ability to mediate conflict situations.
9. Good Health & Safety knowledge.
