Full Job Description
The Senior Product Cost Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to achieve cost reduction and affordability initiatives aligning to business goals and objectives for the Engineering function. Day-to-Day you will lead and provide oversight to a cross functional team of Engineer's and partner with various Programme and Supply Chain stakeholders.,
- Develop and communicate a clear vision and strategic direction for the department, ensuring alignment to wider business goals and objectives.
- Develop and manage project plans including scope, timelines, budgets and resource allocation. Communicating and collaborating with appropriate stakeholders for dependencies.
- Monitor and evaluate team and project performance, utilising appropriate Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).
- Perform critical decision making based on data, analysis and experience.
- Build strong relationships with Customers and internal partners at all levels of the organisation.
- Integrate lessons learned with current and future development programmes to build a level of rigor and assurance for 'Design to Cost'.
- Ensure that the project deliverables and team output adhere to the applicable regulatory, quality and customer standards., GE supports and encourages flexible working arrangements, where possible, and recognises the benefits to employees of having a positive work-life balance.
A degree in a relevant Engineering field, or equivalent experience. - Extensive experience in a project management role with a demonstrable track record of delivering complex projects.
- Experience in financial business decision making (e.g. ROI, IRR etc).
- Proficient with typical Microsoft Office and project management software and tools.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills. Desired Characteristics
- A proactive nature with an ability to become self-sufficient.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience with various project management methodologies (E.g. Agile, Waterfall, Kanban etc).
- An appropriate project management certification, such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar.
