As increased regulation sets higher and clearer standards of consumer protection across the Insurance industry, it requires all firms to put their customers' needs first. The FCA's Consumer Duty directive has set higher and clearer standards of consumer protection. As a Governance Executive you'll play a crucial role for AXA in supporting the Retail Intermediary business on a broad range of regulatory activity across governance, compliance, and conduct. The core purpose of the role is to focus on ensuring we meet our regulatory obligations, ensuring the AXA Retail Intermediary business meets all standards required for internal and external governing bodies, minimises loss and delivers desired customer outcomes. You'll also cover a wider range of governance activity and broker oversight requirements across our intermediary trading and distribution teams. At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at our Ipswich or London office, visiting clients or attending industry events. What you'll be doing:
- Supporting the delivery of AXA Retail intermediary Consumer Duty regulatory responsibilities, including analysing Broker MI and communicating with and building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Taking accountability for record keeping and reporting on Retail Intermediary performance against all required FCA Consumer Duty and associated regulatory expectations.
- Detailed assessments of the oversight and processes of our brokers and software houses, determining Consumer Duty gaps and administering the associated record keeping and tracking.
- Implementing improvements to broker governance frameworks, which will ensure more robust oversight of customer outcomes.
- Keeping records of intermediary broker and software house contracts, driving amendments in line with future governance requirements, where required.
- Driving the wider compliance agenda with all internal and external regulations across the
- Intermediary business and teams including GIPP, Fair Value Assessments, VIDC, Consumer Duty and other required policies.
- Audit action tracking process and the business teams through audit activity, including independent/thematic reviews and ensuring that records are regularly updated and adapted for presentation to different stakeholders.

- Broad knowledge within Financial Services sector, preferable Personal Lines Intermediary market environment knowledge.
- Clear understanding of legislation and regulation applied to the Financial Services industry, particularly in relation to the end consumer.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and ability to learn and adapt new requirements.
- Experience of managing and supporting risk, control and compliance within a diverse operating environment.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Strong oral/written communication skills, analytical skills and the ability to interpret data.
- Experience in liaising with trading teams and senior management
- Competent with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
