Full Job Description
We are recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join our small finance team. Working alongside the Bookkeeper, you will support the Head of Finance and People with day-to-day financial operations of busy Charity, The Palace Trust. You will be based in the office at The Bishop's Palace, a heritage Visitor Attraction. The 13th century medieval palace that has been home to the Bishops of Bath and Wells for over 800 years with breath-taking gardens, surrounded by a moat, drawbridge and iconic gatehouse you couldn't ask for a more beautiful and inspirational place to work. As a charity, The Palace Trust, has the mission to protect The Bishop's Palace by ensuring financial stability through engaging a wide range of people for their enjoyment and learning. As Accounts Assistant your key responsibilities will include the processing and payment of all invoices, liaising with suppliers and reconciling statements and dealing with queries. You will also assist with month end closing activities and reporting. This is a key role in the back-office operations of this year round heritage attraction.
- Numerate and good communicator
- High attention to detail and organisational skills
- Have previous experience in a similar role
- Ideally have experience using Sage 50 and excellent IT skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience of the charity sector would be desirable. This role is part time hours - working hours can be worked as part or full days, working pattern is flexible so could fit with school hours.
