Full Job Description

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic individual that can advance our work on climate change and biodiversity. The Council has taken great strides through improvements to the Town Hall, through domestic retrofit across the Borough and other projects, but we now want someone that can support work across the organisation working with managers to get things done and contribute to meeting the Council's target of becoming carbon neutral by 2030.
Located in the 'Heart of Derbyshire' with a borough comprising of quiet villages, market towns and excellent transport links, Amber Valley is set in beautiful countryside with the Derwent Mills world heritage site adding to the charm of Amber Valley.
Recognising that reducing carbon emissions is a priority nationally, we are looking for someone to provide expertise and drive to help us to continue to support our efforts to reduce carbon emissions.
We want our new colleague to help facilitate our collective efforts to deliver the Council's biodiversity duties, including working closely with communities and local organisations to assist in delivering the 5-year plan which is currently being drafted.
Ideally you will need to have knowledge and/or experience of carbon reduction measures. You will need a good understanding of relevant technologies, techniques, materials and be able to use and develop a system for recording and monitoring emissions.
You will need to have excellent IT skills and the ability to organise and prioritise your own work. You may also be required to work on site and work from home occasionally. Please refer to the job description and person specification for further details.
In addition, we can offer:
