Casual Car Documentation- The successful candidate will be a designated Casual Car User which means that car journeys may be necessary on an occasional basis, but are not essential to the role. If you do drive, you must always hold a full valid driving licence and provide your own car for use at work, as well as provide all the appropriate documentation. You will receive an allowance per mile of business use. The library includes a busy lending library, reference collections, Internet computers and study spaces, with other key parts of the library offer being the numerous performance and exhibition spaces, popular music, business libraries, and an exciting children's library. The library hosts the library live cultural programme of activities and events, and is a key part of the civic quarter in the city centre. We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled, experience, customer focussed manager to lead the team and help shape delivery of this unique and much loved library. The role of Central Library Manager is responsible for operational delivery of the Central Library. It is vital to delivering a consistent, high quality, customer-focussed programme and library service for residents and visitors. • proven experience of developing services and leading teams to deliver excellent customer service levels in a busy public library environment
• ability to engage with city centre, citywide and national communities and connect them to the opportunities that libraries provide
• ability to manage critical relationships with partners to ensure seamless service delivery
• ability to manage delivery of cultural programming and activation to support the libraries Library Live programme
• ability to deliver capital projects to continually improve the library offer
• adaptability and resilience to ensure that the day to day challenges of running a high demand face to face service are continually met and that service delivery is maintained to a high standard
