Then look no further - we have a fantastic opportunity for four Resident Engagement Assistants to join our Strategic Waste Team here at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council on a Fixed Term Contract until 1st October 2026. We have the following opportunities available: 1 x full time (37 hours per week) post (£24,790 - £25,183) 3 x part time (15 hours per week) post (£10,050 - £10,209) In this exciting role you'll engage directly with residents, schools and community groups to promote and educate residents on recycling and waste minimisation. You'll help residents understand the upcoming changes to the waste and recycling service through supporting various community engagement campaigns across the Borough. What you'll do:
- Assist in delivering educational campaigns to increase recycling participation.
- Support events, drop-in sessions, and community visits to engage with residents.
- Visit schools across the Borough to engage with children about the importance of recycling.
- Deliver fun, educational campaigns to boost recycling participation.
- Provide advice and information directly to residents, including door-knocking activities.
- Assist in collecting feedback from residents and monitoring participation rates.
- Work as part of a team to support the roll-out of new services, such as the garden waste subscription service. Working arrangements: This role offers a variety of working patterns, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
