Pobl Group are a proud employer of over 2,300 colleagues providing diverse services and making a difference in communities throughout Wales. Our Care team provides registered care services throughout South Wales at dozens of locations and for a wide range of customers. Pobl means 'People' and people really are at the heart of everything we do. We support some truly amazing people to live positive, independent lives in their own home and help get them where they want to be in life. This service is a residential care home in the heart of the community, walking distance form all local amenities. This service has an excellent reputation of being a quality and valued care provider where the needs of the residents are at the centre of all that they do. The team understand that everyone is unique. Tailored care is designed to meet the individual needs and wishes of each resident at the home. Staff are highly trained and understand the importance of enabling people to keep control of their lives. What is the role? This service is the home of 40 residents, all with individual personalities and different support needs including some with dementia. The Kitchen Assistant will be part of the catering team ensuring the highest standards are achieved to meet the needs to the residents. You'll prepare, cook and serve meals (including portion control and provision of special dietary meals where necessary). You'll also implement health and safety in the kitchen, including food hygiene, Infection control and COSHH. This role will mean that you will manage the full meal-time process from ordering and receipting food for the kitchen, to storage, food preparation, cooking and clean-up. A great part of this job is actively engaging residents in conversation and having meaningful interactions with them about their lives and experiences. You will also provide assistance to people who we support at mealtimes if they require it. What skills and experience do you need? To be successful you'll have experience of working in food preparation in a professional kitchen environment. Our values are positive, connected and considerate. At Pobl, you will share these values and be motivated to work in an environment that is driven by them.
