You'll be part of a team working in an area renowned for its rolling valleys, stone barns and walls, dramatic waterfalls, and historic villages - helping to preserve its beauty while enabling well-designed, sustainable development. We're looking for a solution-focused leader with strong design skills and a passion for nature recovery, climate change, and sustainability. What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and managing a team of up to four planners, offering guidance, support, and supervision.
• Overseeing a development management service covering half of the National Park.
• Managing a small caseload of complex, high-profile planning applications.
• Negotiating positive design solutions and using delegated powers to determine applications.
• Contributing to team performance and deputising for the Head of Development Management when needed.
  
  Be an experienced development management planner, with a strong knowledge of planning legislation, procedures, and policy frameworks.
• Be a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI), or working towards it.
• Have a proactive, problem solving approach to balancing conservation and development needs.
• Have access to a car or alternative means of transport to meet the travel demands of the role.
  
  Salary: Up to £48,000 (£41,510 - £45,719 plus market rate supplement of £2,600)
