Full Job Description

As an In-House Advocate, you will play a crucial role in representing the Council at court, providing expert legal advice on childcare law, and supporting social care colleagues in ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people. This is an exciting time to join our growing legal services team, where you will contribute to shaping legal policies and procedures while developing your advocacy skills in a supportive and collaborative environment. Your Responsibilities
- Represent Bury Council in court proceedings concerning childcare and social care matters.
- Provide expert legal advice and guidance to social care teams and senior management.
- Assist in developing and implementing legal compliance policies and best practices.
- Work closely with the Head of Social Care Legal Team to uphold excellent legal practice.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
To succeed in this role, you will need to be: - A qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive with an up-to-date practising certificate and advocacy rights.
- Experienced in childcare law, with a strong background in legal proceedings related to children's services.
- An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to provide clear legal advice.
- Collaborative and adaptable, able to build and maintain strong working relationships across departments.

- £52,805 - £53,878 per annum
