This position reports to Cluster Lead Counsel NEU Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide strategic legal counsel and uphold the highest standards of integrity within ABB. Each day, you will ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards. You will also showcase your expertise by effectively managing legal risks and fostering a culture of integrity across the organization. The work model for the role is: #hybrid with some travel to ABB sites in UK and Ireland This role is contributing to the UK and Ireland Electrification business. You will be mainly accountable for:
- Provides end-to-end legal services and integrity advice to one or more departments or operating units within the Electrification business area. Reviews and negotiates contract, drafts commercial agreements and other contractual terms in collaboration with relevant global and local business stakeholders plus Legal and Integrity team members. Monitors and manages legal affairs, including but not limited to litigations (incoming and outgoing claims) and activity reports.
- Occupies a seat at the table on local strategic business matters providing advice and identifies risks, external threats, and opportunities to the company, proactively and proposes appropriate strategies. Supports with local country fiduciary duties and good corporate governance, if applicable. Qualifications for the role
- University Law Degree with certificate in legal practice or hold subsequent legal/professional qualifications.
- A qualified Solicitor (8 to 10 years PQE) with a practicing certificate admitted in England and Wales.
- Fluent in English.
- "Hands-on" business partner attitude with a solution-oriented mindset, in particular coordinating with cross-functional and cross-country teams in complex transactions.
- Superior advocacy and communication skills, including the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in writing and orally, an aptitude for practical negotiation, the capability to think clearly and quickly under pressure, the composure to satisfy multiple and often competing interests and ability to share lessons learned with teammates.
- The highest integrity and professionalism, and passion for excellence and quality.
- Ability to work in complex international environment, experience working with different cultures and an open mind which champions diversity and inclusion.
