Full Job Description
The Basics: Tanium Legal is seeking a highly motivated, proactive candidate to join our team as our first attorney based in Europe. While primarily focused on employment and compliance issues, we are looking for someone who is also willing and able to pitch in on other issues as they arise, providing an opportunity to gain experience in other areas of the law. What you'll do:
- Provide practical legal advice to Tanium's European Human Resources department and managers regarding employment laws, including employee contract matters, workplace requirements, training programs, and employment disputes.
- Partner with other members of the Legal department to address legal compliance issues, including advice regarding data privacy, anti-bribery, and other regulations applicable to Tanium's operations.
- Manage outside law firms across Tanium's European footprint.
- Assist with international growth and expansion efforts.
- Be willing to pitch in as needed on contract negotiations, product issues and/or international entity management.
Strong background in employment law issues, in multiple European countries, particularly the United Kingdom, France, Germany, and/or the Netherlands. - Experience with, and interest in other areas and trends impacting technology companies.
- A law degree and at least 4 years of in-depth employment law experience at either a law firm or in-house at a technology company.
- Qualified and licensed to practice law under the law of the country of residence.
- Experience working with HR and leadership in a cross-functional manner to proactively guide compliance with employment laws, policies, and procedures.
- Excellent business judgment and critical thinking with a strong work ethic and a high degree of accountability.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and flexibly in a collegial, fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Demonstrated a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving to achieve the best business results.
- Passion for learning new things and taking on new challenges.
- Ability to resolve complex issues in creative and practical ways.
