Full Job Description
Would you like to join the largest Health & Fitness operator in Europe, working with a passionate driven team with the will to win? We're looking for a highly skilled 'Finance Business Partner' to join our team. As Finance Business Partner you will be working with the European Finance Manager and the wider finance team to provide end to end support for the Regional Directors, Regional Managers and Club General Managers in all aspects of finance. This will include reporting, forecasting and benchmark analysis to drive the commercial performance of clubs. The role works closely with the Existing RFM's, supporting them in their analysis of KPI's and ad hoc requests. This is a Hybrid role with the expected travel to Clubs and Meetings including some travel to Europe up to 40%, with the remaining time spent in Head Office or working remotely. The role will also involve some month-end 'management accounts' activities, which will focus on the review and booking of costs, explanation of variances to expectation and balance sheet reconciliations. This is expected to take approximately 4 days a month. As 'Finance Business Partner' you will:
- Ensure that all clubs in your region strive to hit their Financial KPI targets.
- Act as a first line of finance support for the RM's and GM's, proactively dealing with queries and analysis in a timely manner. Provide advice and guidance on financial matters and commercial decision making.
- Ensure the accuracy of the management accounts for your regions before final distribution.
- Understand what drives the business results and measure what matters with actionable insight, through analysis, summarising financial strengths / weaknesses and proposing corrective actions. This will include understanding and driving operational efficiencies.
- Propose innovative solutions that can drive efficiencies, with primary focus on payroll costs.
- Using data and competitive benchmarking to build performance and as a result positively contributing to the EBITDA performance of the Clubs.
- Through conversations with the club GM's and interrogation of the underlying financial systems, understand the key revenue and expenditure variances to forecast and prior year. Focus should be given to understanding the subscriptions / yield / 'conservatism' dynamics of all clubs in your region.
- Attend monthly business reviews as appropriate (both club and region) and contribute through the explanation of trading variances and analysis to support the key trends. Assist with the development of action plans to improve poor performance, with primary focus on Tier 1 and under performing clubs.
- Work with RM's and GM's to determine the capital spend needs for your region, ensuring that all development capital achieves 20% ROIC. Conduct PIA's to determine success and learnings from capital spend and share with wider team.
- Demonstrate a real desire to improve central processing where possible.
- Ensure that Finance Business Partner Club Support has necessary input to provide the group wide view of what Finance Business Partners are doing on a regional basis: ensuring central initiatives are realised in the clubs
- Create a good an excellent working relationship with Regional Managers and Club Managers and become a trusted source of sound financial advice to help them grow their club;
- Be flexible, travelling to your clubs as required to deal with issues that have arisen. Attend meetings with Head of Reporting as required.
- Be constantly looking for ways to proactively enhance the commercial viability of the clubs, whilst ensuring that member experience is not compromised, and that relevant measures are in place to keep member satisfaction KPI's at required levels.
- Work on any ad-hoc projects that are required by the Head of Reporting, Regional Managers or other operational departments
- Share commercial opportunities and best practice between clubs and the wider business.
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of the fitness industry, and how current trends will impact DL.
- Help implement central initiatives and positively promote the DL culture and values.
ACA /CIMA / ACCA qualification. - Outstanding financial analysis skills, with the ability to gather, manipulate and present large quantities of data effectively.
- Excellent presentation across all Microsoft products and presentations.
- The ability to influence key business processes.
- The ability to influence timings and co-ordination of deliverables from the clubs.
- Well-organized and able to develop and monitor plans to meet agreed deadlines
- Ability to work within a team and develop positive relationships with both finance and operational colleagues
