The Opportunity:
The council is recruiting three Casual Sport and Community Activity Assistants to join the Community Health and Wellbeing Development team. The role will include delivering a variety of sport and community activity sessions within the borough.
The Community Health and Wellbeing Development team have various ongoing projects which require staff to support delivery, such as youth engagement, school holiday schemes and wider community activities.
The positions are casual, and working hours will therefore be allocated based on service need, but hours of work will primarily include weekday and evening working and during school holiday periods.
About You:
It is essential that you have some experience of working in partnership and delivering sport and physical activities in a wide range of environments and community settings. You will have the ability to inspire, motivate and encourage people through sport and community activity.
Applicants must have a full driving licence. A recognised level 1 coaching qualification or equivalent, or the willingness to complete one is essential for the role.
We are looking for candidates that can communicate with people effectively and to work on their own initiative to adapt sessions appropriately to meet the needs of various participant groups.
Please note the successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.
