Full Job Description
As a Participation Officer, you will be responsible for managing, coordinating and implementing the delivery of programmes and events that provide local and national sporting opportunities for blind and partially sighted people to participate in sport and physical activity. Key objectives:
- Overseeing the delivery of local and national events
- Managing event operations, including venues, sport programmes and deliverers
- Recruiting, coordinating and training event coaches and volunteers
- Working closely with the Head of Sport Development on our place-based work for 2025 and beyond
- Building and maintaining positive relationships with partners, including national governing bodies of sport, disability sport organisations and local councils
- Take on the role of Deputy Safeguarding Lead driving safeguarding standards and the implementation of policies and procedures
A degree or similar level qualification in sports development or the equivalent practical experience - Strong event and project management skills
- Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills
- Ability to travel independently and work flexible hours, including events and weekends when necessary
