Full Job Description
You will work closely with the TRU communications team, senior management and various project departments to ensure consistent and impactful messaging across all channels. Your role will involve building relationships with key stakeholder, both internally and externally, to generate advocacy. Additionally, you will be expected to engage with media, creating awareness of Transpennine Route Upgrade's activities and the long-term benefits they will offer. You will play a crucial role in developing and implementing communications strategies for various work streams while evaluating successes and required changes.
About the role (External)
Some of the key accountabilities of this role are:
1. Support the delivery of communications programmes, working with colleagues and stakeholders across the route and wider business.
2. Support the delivery of appropriate communication channels for the target audience.
3. Research, draft and proofread communications content.
4. Build a good understanding of the business and its audiences to help inform communications support.
5. Understand relevant corporate communications guidelines and brand policies with a view to contributing to a consistent tone, style and design across Network Rail communications.
6. Work collaboratively with the team and broader Communications department to deliver joined-up internal and external communications, supporting corporate-led communications activity as required.
· Experience in external communications
· Good interpersonal skills
· Good attention to detail
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Good organisational and time management skills
It would be advantageous if you have:
· Experience writing for channels
· Experience in engaging and/or managing relationships with external stakeholders
· Knowledge of media relations (including print, digital, social and broadcast)
· Experience of working collaboratively to deliver
· Evidence of pursuing career development in communications

It will transform journeys across the North, better connecting towns and cities through more frequent, faster, greener trains, running on a better, cleaner and more reliable railway.
Salary: circa £28,000 per annum depending on experience
