Full Job Description
To support the Shrewsbury facility, which has an average operational workforce of around 250 people, we are looking to recruit an EHS Associate to work alongside the EHS Manager in delivering the facility strategic plan and Caterpillar safety strategy. Within this role you will support all areas of the business to meet our overall strategy to get everyone home safely every day. What You Will Do
- Undertake assessments, audits and actions to ensure facility compliance to governmental and corporate standards
- Collate data for monthly metrics submission to the facility and corporation
- Manage safety processes and associated databases for contractor control, COSHH and incident reporting.
- First point of contact for safety concerns and queries.
- Undertake tactical technical safety improvement work ensuring safety systems of work for all on site.
- Support the H&S Manager on strategy, projects and programmes to ensure everyone gets home safely every day.
- Deliver in person training and presentations to employees at all levels., Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Policy Compliance: Knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies; ability to implement EHS policies to ensure that provided products and services are safe for people and the environment and in compliance with legal requirements and standards.
- Uses safety or personal protective equipment, e.g. safety boots and protective eyewear.
- Prepares for emergency situations according to EHS policy.
- Replaces hazardous materials with environmentally friendly ones where appropriate.
- Conducts risk assessments to identify hazards in the business, work areas and work processes.
- Completes incident report forms after detecting risks or hazards in the workplace Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Delivers helpful feedback that focuses on behaviors without offending the recipient.

- Makes oral presentations and writes reports needed for own work.
- Avoids technical jargon when inappropriate.

- Systems superuser administrator to manage actions and improvements on several IT platforms.
- Can undertake risk assessments and assess control measures for effectiveness

- Understands manufacturing operations and engineering principles and methodologies.
- Safety qualifications or experience in safety roles or projects Additional Notes
- This role is integral to our production facility, therefore, a daily presence onsite at the Shrewsbury facility is required
