Purpose of the role:
An exciting opportunity to lead and influence within a dynamic and diverse food sector business, operating across multiple channels including food service, wholesale, manufacturing, e-commerce, and retail. This role focuses on overseeing and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality assurance. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with food safety protocols, managing and improving quality systems, coordinating and supporting customer, BRC and schemes audits, and handling technical administration. This position is pivotal in upholding the business's reputation for excellence and driving continuous improvement in all technical aspects.
Key responsibilities as a Technical Manager will be to:
- Address supplier non-compliances with effective corrective action plans, driving continual improvement across the supply chain.
- Support the approval of new suppliers and monitor current suppliers through.
- Ensure timely and accurate vendor approval and data management within the SAP system to maintain an up-to-date and compliant supplier database.
- Develop and maintain technical Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports, ensuring clear communication with the business and other stakeholders.
- Lead and manage technical projects, including but not limited to shelf-life validations, ensuring successful execution and delivery of objectives within agreed timelines.
- Provide regular updates and detailed reports to the Managing Director and Senior Management Team.
- Undertake any additional projects or responsibilities as reasonably required to support business objectives and drive innovation.
- Work closely with the commercial team to ensure alignment between technical and commercial objectives, including, product specifications, and customer requirements.
- Manage and respond to customer requests, including technical queries, product specifications, and compliance documentation, ensuring prompt and accurate communication
- Collaborate with internal teams to meet customer-specific requirements and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction.

Required experience/expertise to succeed as a Technical Manager will include:
- Experience within a technical or quality role
- Food Safety or HACCP Certification
- Building relationships with suppliers, customers, and fellow team members
- Numerate, analytical and adept at Microsoft packages
- Experience working with SAP or a similar ERP system
- A full driving license
