Full Job Description
In this role, you'll engage with multiple cross-functional teams who source these commodities to help execute a responsible sourcing roadmap. This involves rolling out a risk framework, providing guidance on responsible sourcing processes, and supporting teams in identifying and mitigating high-risk sourcing issues.,
- Implement responsible sourcing risk framework and collaborate cross-functionally to embed it into business practices
- Support internal teams in integrating sourcing risk data into procurement decisions and business planning
- Work cross-functionally with teams to gather data and implement sustainability programs
- Collaborate with Sustainable Science and Sustainable Technology teams on data collection methodologies and proxy processes to quantify sourcing risks, while monitoring changes over time.
- Stay current on emerging sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices
- Develop recommendations for enhancing sustainability initiatives and ensuring compliance
- Evaluate sustainability programs against regulatory requirements and industry benchmarks
- Analyze complex sustainability policies, regulations, and certification standards to assess their impact on Amazon's operations and supply chain
- Produce well-researched reports and presentations for leadership on sustainability topics
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Policy, or related field - Experience in sustainability policy analysis, environmental consulting, or related role - Strong analytical and research skills - Excellent writing skills with experience producing detailed reports and presentations - Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Experience in influencing senior leadership through data driven insights - Experience working across functional teams and senior stakeholders - Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Policy, or related field - Experience in sustainability policy analysis or environmental consulting - Knowledge of sustainability certifications (e.g., FSC, Fairtrade, Rainforest Alliance) - Familiarity with EU environmental regulations, especially EUDR - Experience in retail or e-commerce sustainability
