Full Job Description

Support Sage in achieving its strategic objectives by assisting in the delivering of effective risk management practices and ensuring the organization maintains adequate and appropriate insurance coverage. Provide proactive guidance and support across front and back-office functions, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Challenge risk and controls owners constructively to drive enhanced business performance, while also developing your own skills and contributing to a resilient, high-performing team. This is a hybrid role, based out of our Newcastle office 3 days per week., What will I be doing?

  • Support the identification of opportunities to improve risk management processes, assisting in introducing efficiencies and new practices.
  • Support the ERM framework, including hosting the risk identification sessions and providing other hands-on support where needed.
  • Actively engage with stakeholders to evaluate whether risks, controls and mitigations are correctly identified, documented and actioned in line with due dates.
  • Assist with the timely production of appropriate risk reports for Sage functions and the GRC.
  • Foster positive relationships across the three lines of defence, the regions and the various functions, collaborating closely to drive risk management improvements.
  • Assist in reviewing, monitoring, and maintaining insurance policies to ensure appropriate coverage for organizational needs.
  • Coordinate with insurance brokers and internal departments to gather documentation required for timely policy renewals.
  • Maintain accurate records of insurance policies, claims, and risk management activities.
  • Assist in processing insurance claims, including gathering documentation and liaising with relevant stakeholders.

    Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels within the company, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Experience and understanding of various risk management and assessment techniques, and/or control design.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail to identify, assess, and address complex risk issues effectively.
  • Practical, hands-on approach to risk management.
  • Results driven, with a proven track record of high-quality delivery under pressure, and in a fast-paced changing environment.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake occasional travel.
  • Understanding of the global regulatory framework including UK Corporate Governance Code, and experience in insurance is preferred.
  • Previous use of a Global Risk and Compliance Tool, and a Data Analysis Tool such as Microsoft Power BI would also be beneficial.
