Full Job Description
This role will play a pivotal role in collaborating with school leaders and Business Managers to undertake procurement activities and provide advice/support to maximise opportunities for schools to achieve budgetary savings and improve efficiency and quality of services through effective procurement/contracting practice. The focus of this role is on supporting schools with their procurement/contracting to ensure that they are securing best value for products/services and that appropriate mechanisms are in place for the monitoring of contracts to ensure quality and contractual compliance. This role will also support the delivery of key priorities/projects to drive service improvement and the implementation of strategy, policy and performance work.
- Experience of supporting strategy and policy development including the development and preparation of policies, plans and reports.
- Experience of planning and supporting delivery of projects/programmes of work of strategic significance (project management experience). Experience of undertaking contract management/procurement desirable.
- Ability work collaboratively with stakeholders such as managers, officers, school-based staff to support the development and implementation of creative approaches to how services/supplies are procured and delivered.
- Experience of identifying and implementing creative solutions in response business needs to drive change across an organisation. Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes in business needs.
- Experience of working effectively with a wide range of stakeholder to build effective relationships to enhance service improvements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and evaluation skills. The ability to think creatively, understand the bigger picture to support transformational change.
- Ability to investigate and explore models, systems and develop processes ideas for developmental and organisational change.
- Effective negotiation and influencing skills to achieve business and organisational priorities/goals. The ability to influence, develop, motivate, and facilitate individuals at senior levels.
- Ability work collaboratively with stakeholders such as managers, officers, school-based staff to support the development and implementation of creative approaches to how services/supplies are procured and delivered. Previous experience of contracting/procurement is desirable.
- Ability to respond positively to challenging work demands and ability to prioritise work and meet set deadlines.
- Confident in providing advice and guidance as required to officers, managers, and school-based staff. Pay Details: Grade 8, SCP 26 - 30 £36,124 - £39,513 per annum, £18.72 - £20.48 (Hourly Rate) Hours of Work / Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 37 hours Main Place of Work: Civic Offices/Hybrid Temporary Reason: Fixed term for 2 years.
