Full Job Description
An opportunity has arisen in our Cross-Divisional Software (CDS) group for a Senior Product Owner. Reporting to the Product Manager, as part of a team of product owners, you'll join a team responsible for the product management of Renishaw's metrology software for existing and new hardware platforms, as well as other related software applications. You'll also have exposure to Renishaw's advanced probing systems and new developments, including REVO and Equator. As a Software Product Owner, you'll be responsible for the entire life cycle management of software products. Working very closely with support, subsidiary and sales and marketing teams to convert market opportunities and demands into detailed software definitions, designs, plans, development, prototyping and testing. You'll be working with and influencing cross-functional teams of Developers, QA's and UX Designers to apply design thinking techniques (e.g. user stories, wireframing, prototyping) to define product features, develop roadmaps and manage product backlogs. Responsibilities Performing the Product Owner role in development teams: Capturing requirements Creating user stories Assisting with development planning / managing a prioritised backlog Reviewing requirements with development team Communicating detailed functionality roadmap
Experience in product development life cycle, from discovery to delivery Ability to communicate and present to a range of audiences at a technical and non-technical level. Able to balance multiple projects and competing priorities within your project timeframes Demonstrates a passion for creating solutions with a positive attitude to change, whilst showing an understanding of information technology Desirable requirements Knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes Previous experience of managing and influencing teams without direct line management of individuals Experience of working within agile development processes such as Scrum/Kanban Experience of leading software development projects in a customer-facing capacity Location & hybrid working We operate a hybrid policy which allows most employees to work from home for part of the week. Typically, the expectation is that this role would be based on site 2 days per week. Person specification As a Senior Product Owner, you'll be well organised and self-motivated with the ability to work independently. You'll be an effective decision maker, showing your analytical skills to drive software development projects forward and considering the division's priorities. You'll be comfortable communicating with stakeholder of all levels, showing the ability to build relationships both internally and externally to the organisation.
