Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a recently qualified psychology graduate to contribute to the Dementia Assessment and Support service (DASS) here in Shropshire. This post is for a fixed term of 12 months, full-time. It is anticipated that we will not be able to acquire additional funding for an extension of the post after this time. The post will provide an opportunity to develop clinical skills and competencies working in a specialist service. The post would also be suitable for a graduate with strong research skills who wishes to pivot towards a more clinical role.Main duties of the job The post will specifically focus on providing psychologically informed reviews of clients and carers known to our service and additionally, the collation and analysis of significant volumes of complex audit data. Firstly, your working time will be providing a holistic assessment of client and carer needs and drawing on additional team support or signposting to relevant external agencies. This will be intensive work with clearly defined objectives and expectations. Additionally, you will undertake a project to collate over a decade of neuropsychological test data relevant to the assessment and diagnosis of clients, summarise this data and produce reports and papers based on the findings. There may also be additional scope for initial history taking and information gathering of clients who are awaiting further assessment within our assessment and diagnosis pathway.
