Full Job Description
This is a 9 month secondment role - working 37 hours per week. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Land & Estates Coordinator to join the Non Domestic Asset Team within Property Services. The overall purpose of the role will be to: Review and update existing land holding, lease, licence and easement records and processes including mapping systems. Issue new leases and licences where appropriate e.g. Garden extensions, car parking spaces. Receive and review initial enquiries and requests for land purchases and acknowledge receipt. Carry out initial desk top reviews and map land sites. Develop and maintain up to date in-house processes and identification of a cost of disposal scheme. Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Housing Regulator and Charity Commission disposals requirements and develop a clear process in accordance with such requirements for disposal consent, including the preparation and handling of legal documents. Undertake site visits to carry out a wide range of surveys including the measurement and collection of data about areas of land, including identifying accurate information about boundaries, buildings and ownership responsibilities. Liaison with various stakeholders including staff, land owners, Councils, Land Registry, Solicitors, Estate Agents, Public Utilities, Telecommunication Companies and members of the public over land and boundary disputes. Rectify and resolve enquiries and disputes about registration of title following liaison with Land Registry and Councils including the use of deeds of variation. Undertake options appraisals for land usage (including disposal) and interpret findings then make recommendations to senior colleagues.
You will be someone with a positive and enthusiastic personality with a strong focus on customer service, attention to detail and positively contribute to the role and team you work in. The ability to work towards deadlines whilst working in a conscientious and tidy manner using your own initiative. The ability to plan, organise and prioritise work is essential and to be able to work with colleagues of all levels, both internal and external. Good verbal and written communication skills are a must. Your personal attributes, including required qualifications and experience Ideally holding a relevant degree (that may be accredited by a relevant professional body such as ICES, ICE or RICS) or with some previous experience within a surveying role preferred. Numeracy skills with the ability to make mathematical calculations. Ability to collect, understand and interpret data, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail to produce outputs that meet ISO/Quality Assurance guidelines. Good lateral and logical thinking skills. Strong IT skills and confidence with new technology. Problem solving and analysis experience. Attention to detail with good organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workloads. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. The ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure delivery of wider corporate goals. Ability to work both unsupervised and as part of a team. Ability to concentrate and work accurately under pressure and to deadlines. Willing to learn and undertake relevant training to keep up to date with a proactive and positive approach. Special Requirements Car driver with access to own vehicle. Must comply with the Lone Worker Policy and all systems.
