About the role
From grade II listed buildings such as Buile Hill Mansion and the Salford Museum and Art Gallery to nationally strategic sites at Salford Quays and modern new build modular buildings in the heart of the City, Salford City Council offers a unique opportunity for those with a passion for all things property.
We're currently looking for a Principal Building Surveyor to lead our team of property professionals delivering a wide range of exceptional services to the people of Salford, including day to maintenance and repairs, asset compliance and major construction and refurbishment projects.

To effectively lead the team you will have proven experience at a senior level in delivering concept to completion construction projects, with extensive knowledge of procurement and contract administration.
Experience working at a senior level within the building and construction industry is vital for this role, as is previous budget and line management responsibility, whilst working within the local authority or education sector will be a distinct advantage.
About us
The Building and Facilities teams currently maintain around 1000 buildings as part of the council estate, covering corporate offices, leisure centres, commercial property and buildings & structures of historic importance. No day is the same. Covering all things property related the team are responsible for asset compliance, day to day repairs, energy management and capital investment programmes.
We currently have an exciting vacancy within our team for a Principal Building Surveyor to enable us to continue to build on our success and bring new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team.
We provide a supportive, flexible and engaging environment and promote job satisfaction for our staff, who in turn deliver high quality services to the people of Salford.
