Full Job Description
This post is in receipt of a Market Supplement payment of 22% for 24 months from date of implementation (November 2023). When an individual is appointed to a role with a market supplement already attached the date of the next review will be made clear to the individual at the recruitment stage and may be less than two years. This will be reviewed in August 2025. The result of a review may be that the payment is reduced, retained, or increased according to the decision of the Head of People (HR Operations) and is dependent on the assessed market position and consequential recruitment or retention risk. In the event of a supplement being reduced or withdrawn, following an annual review, the individual will be given 90 days' notice in writing from the review date by the HR Manager (Corporate Support). About the role: To provide comprehensive building surveying support through high quality prompt and efficient service within the Estates and Building Services Department, ensuring that the service complies with appropriate legislation, professional standards and the Police Force's values and policies.
- Contribute to the provision of a comprehensive building surveying service within the Estates and Building Services Department. Dealing with day-to-day and building defect reports, engaging contractors and initiating orders as necessary. Undertaking specific surveys including cyclical condition surveys and other user surveys, as directed by the Building Services Manager, and advising on recommended courses of action and remedial measures where necessary. Preparation and updating of the estate databases, together (with) specifications and drawings using both manual and CAD methods and all other documentation for Planning/Building Control drawings to enable tenders and quotations to be obtained. Organisation and supervision of a range of contract and other works, including the raising of all necessary contractual and administrative documentation. Want to know more about this role? Salary: Scale F - Starts at £33,264 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £38,754 per annum Please note that the above salary is based on working 37 hours per week. If this role is part-time or you are appointed on a part-time basis your salary will be prorated to reflect this. Exceptions to starting salary may apply if you are an existing Devon & Cornwall or Dorset Police Staff employee substantively posted to a role at the same Scale. Type of employment: Permanent Type of working arrangement: Hybrid Worker - Hybrid working is a form of flexible working where workers spend some of their time working remotely (usually, but not necessarily, from home) and some in the employer's workspace. Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week.
