Full Job Description
The Mental Health West team is based at West Suffolk House in Bury St Edmunds. The Mental Health service is a creative space, evolving to work in the best way for the people of Suffolk. You will bring specialist knowledge, skills and passion with the ability and experience to lead a service that encourages independence and wellbeing. You will work closely with local systems partners to provide high standards of social work to the people of Suffolk, who are also receiving a service from NHS Mental Health Services, including carrying out both our statutory duties under the Care Act 2014 and those under the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007). The team is part of the Adult Social Care Mental Health, Learning Disability and Autism Service. There are locality teams within each service, a forensic team, a review team, a transitions team and the County Wide AMHP service. There is a strong sense of togetherness within the service. Your role and responsibilities
- advise, support and supervise a team, encouraging a culture of continued learning
- ensure the team meet Suffolk County Council's statutory duties under the relevant legislation and guidance for adults with support needs and their carers
- interface with partner services including community health and hospitals., monthly supervision
- annual appraisals with pay progression related to performance
- a supportive network of senior practitioners and managers
- bi-monthly whole service workshops
- opportunities for continued professional development. If you are also an AMHP we offer monthly AMHP supervisions, that are structured using the AMHP competency framework standards, a monthly countywide AMHP forum, an annual AMHP conference and regular peer support groups and annual appraisal. We work closely with our workforce development colleagues to commission specialist AMHP CPD days. The team The West Mental Health team is built upon a strengths-based approach using the Signs of Safety and Wellbeing model of practice. We make use of existing strengths to enable the people we support to achieve their outcomes and live more independently. The team comprises of a Team Manager, Senior Practitioner, Social Workers and Senior Independence and Wellbeing Practitioners and is passionate, supportive and welcoming. We are currently offering a hybrid model of working from home and the office. We have a cohesive and supportive management team, committed to continuous professional development. - a Social Work qualification recognised by Social Work England and Social Work England registration
- experience collaborating with partner services to achieve a joint vision
- the ability to support a team through changing priorities and continued service developments
- awareness of new/innovative ways of working including digital technology
- to be skilled in leading a risk positive service.
£46,670 - £57,025 per annum (pro rata for part time) - 37 hours per week - Flexible working options available
- Secondment for 9 months
