Full Job Description
This is a key role in the Volunteering for Health initiative, developed and delivered by Voluntary Norfolk through the Volunteering for Health Partnership in Norfolk and Waveney. The work aligns with the ambitions of the Norfolk Vision for Volunteering (2023-26).
The postholder will lead and support the development of volunteer practice across the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care System (ICS). This role will focus on supporting the development of volunteering infrastructure in primary and other care settings as part of the Volunteering for Health programme.
The role will work collaboratively with a range of partners across the integrated care system (ICS), including NHS Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board (NWICB) Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUH) to promote a culture of valuing and empowering volunteers, and to ensure that volunteering is aligned with the strategic priorities and values of the system. The role will take learning from organisations that are working well in this area and share it where volunteering is currently underdeveloped.
This role will work closely with the Volunteering Innovation Manager to develop tools and resources related to volunteer development and volunteer management in health and care settings. These resources will be hosted on the new Get Involved Skills platform.
The Volunteering Development Manager will, also, need to be familiar with current health and care structures and systems and be confident to lead on volunteering best practice in health and care settings. Building relationships with key stakeholders, analysing information to create high-quality and impactful reports, and giving effective presentations to key groups and organisations will be essential.
The role will require an ability to work independently and deliver the project plan flexibly across organisations in the system.
Main Purpose of the Post:
• Drive culture change across the Integrated Care System and make the case for investment involunteering.
• Work in partnership across the Integrated Care System to ensure that volunteers have the best experience of volunteering, and to drive a step change in recruitment and retention practices to create a more resilient and diverse body of volunteers.
• Create an Integrated Care System learning collaboration where best practice, lived experience and innovation in volunteering support are recognised and promoted.
• Provide opportunities for health and care partners in volunteer management training and peer support networks.
