Full Job Description
Wiltshire Council is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join our Assessment Team based in Salisbury. This role provides an opportunity to make a real impact in children's lives, conducting timely and high-quality assessments that ensure children and families receive the right support at the right time. Working within a multi-agency framework, you will be part of a team that is committed to delivering person-centred, strengths-based social work. You will work closely with children, families, and partner agencies to safeguard children, promote well-being, and enable positive outcomes. Responsibilities \n
- Undertake statutory social work assessments, identifying risks, needs, and strengths within families.\n
- Work closely with families, schools, health professionals, and partner agencies to develop SMART care plans.\n
- Undertake child protection investigations, ensuring timely and effective interventions.\n
- Prepare and present reports for case conferences, legal proceedings, and multi-agency meetings.\n
- Work in line with best practices and statutory guidance, maintaining accurate case records.\n
- Support children and families to access appropriate services, advocating for their needs.\n
\nQualifications: Degree in Social Work and registration with Social Work England.\n - \nExperience: Significant post-qualification experience in assessment, child protection, and safeguarding.\n
- \nSkills: Strong risk assessment, communication, and decision-making skills.\n
- \nKnowledge: Sound understanding of legislation, policies, and best practices in children's social care.\n
- \nOther Requirements: Ability to travel within Wiltshire as needed.\n
