Full Job Description
Job Title: Project Support Officer, Public Health Department, Community Wellbeing Directorate, Are you interested in supporting the delivery of Herefordshire Council's Rough Sleeper Drug and Alcohol Treatment Grant (RSDATG) project? Do you have a passion for wanting to make a difference and driving change? We are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic and dynamic individuals, with excellent organisational & administrative skills to help support in all different aspects of RSDATG project delivery. The role offers a great opportunity to get involved at the start of a busy and thriving project environment. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate they are strong team players, and who are passionate about delivering an excellent service. If you are interested in a role as Project Support and think you have the skills we are looking for, then we look forward to receiving your application. Knowledge and previous experience of supporting rough sleeper projects would be desirable. This full-time post is currently offered on a fixed term contract and is funded until 31/03/2026 (possibility of being extended). About the RSDATG project: The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) and the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID) in the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) are working together to deliver a DLUHC-funded rough sleeping drug and alcohol treatment grant. This funding is targeted at the local authorities identified by DLUHC and OHID as having the highest numbers of people placed into emergency accommodation during the Covid 19 pandemic and/or sleeping rough and/or at risk of sleeping rough or, latterly, based on numbers experiencing rough sleeping and will contribute to the government's ambition to end rough sleeping by the end of this Parliament. The grant will fund specialist support for individuals to access and engage with drug and alcohol treatment and move towards longer-term accommodation, supporting the work of wider homelessness and rough sleeping funding.
Essential
- Strong communication skills

- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Relevant experience in Public Health or related fields
- Knowledge of Drug and Alcohol/Rough Sleeper
- Multi-agency working Desirable
- Degree qualification in relevant field
- Experience of working with budgets
