More than 35,000 people applied for the position, which offered a $150,000 salary, six months rent-free accommodation, travel insurance and return airfares.
In return, candidates were expected to blog about their experiences. The successful candidate went on to become a Tourism Ambassador.

The China Giant Panda Protection and Research Centre advertised a dream role for animal lovers: Panda Nanny! Yes, that’s a real job.
Tens of thousands of people applied for the role, which offered a great salary plus meals, board and use of a vehicle within the centre.
The ideal candidate was expected to have strong writing and photography skills, as well as a basic knowledge of pandas.
