An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Garden Design to provide high-quality teaching and learning to our Garden Design students.

The College offers a range of garden and landscape design courses ranging from a Level 1 course in Introduction to Garden Design through to Level 3 courses in subjects such as the Principles and Practice of Garden Design and Plants and Planting for Garden Design.

The post holder will provide high quality teaching on the College's Garden Design courses and ensure the effective learning of students being taught. This will involve preparing and delivering stimulating lessons, setting goals that stretch and challenge all students, monitoring and assessing student progress, giving feedback and consistently demonstrating the positive attitudes, values and behaviours which are expected of students.

The ideal candidate will be innovative, collaborative and have experience working in the garden design industry. They will be able to teach subjects such as technical design and graphic drawing skills, the use of hard landscaping materials and the use of plants in garden design including topics such as plant selection, sustainable planting, structural planting and plant colour theory and practice.

Applicants should possess a Degree, HND or other relevant qualification in a related discipline. We welcome applications from experienced Lecturers and from those with relevant industry experience who are interested in passing on their skills to others. If you are a gardening enthusiast with the ability to inspire, motivate and challenge students and if you are able to impart knowledge and develop understanding that promotes a love of learning and develops intellectual curiosity, we want to hear from you.

This is a part time role, working for 7.2 Hours per week. The actual salary is £6,221- £8,209pa for qualified Lecturers and £5,327-£5,896pa for unqualified Lecturers.
