Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Capel Manor College and we are now seeking to appoint a Counsellor for our students.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing one-to-one support to students who may have emotional or behavioural issues. They will assess individual student needs and work with students and tutors to suggest targeted support plans and strategies. They will also act as a Safeguarding Officer in the Safeguarding Team, to provide a high quality, responsive service to students experiencing welfare and safeguarding issues.

The ideal candidate will have an accredited Counsellor qualification and hold membership with the BACP, UKCP or BABCP or equivalent. They will have experience working with young people and experience working with clients from a wide range of backgrounds. They should have good organisational skills and the ability to work on their own initiative. A good understanding of safeguarding practices is also essential.

This is a part-time role, working 21.6 hours per week, term-time only. The actual salary is £14,521- £15,423 per annum.
