Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Patient Experience and Voluntary Services team. We are looking to appoint a Voluntary Services Co-ordinator to work closely with the Patient and Carer Experience Leads to co-ordinate and play an active role in the management of voluntary service functions within Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The role will require the post holder to work both onsite, including office based working and visiting various locations where volunteers are based throughout the Trust. Some volunteers are based offsite therefore access to transport would be desirable.

There is also a requirement to work in various locations across Barnsley, promoting volunteering opportunities and recruitment.

The postholder will ensure volunteers are recruited, inducted, trained, supervised and supported in line with the policies and procedures of the Trust. You will need to have good organisational skills and demonstrate the ability to receive and communicate information clearly, respectfully and efficiently written, telephone and face to face. You will also be required to manage conflict and sensitive situations. The post is suitable for someone with previous experience in the voluntary sector and familiarity of the patient experience and engagement agenda.

A keen and capable team player, the post holder must be able to work in an integrated and supportive way with other members of the team providing cover for other team members where necessary.
