Royal High Bath is looking to appoint a full time, highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic Specialist Sensory Teaching Assistant to join our supportive, hardworking team. You will provide 1:1 support to a visually impaired child on a daily basis, providing key support during lessons. You will help the child to manage transitions and instructed sessions, including lunch and play times, and will also deliver a programme of therapy recommendations, as directed by the class teacher and outlined in the EHCP. You will need previous experience of working with children in a 1:1 capacity and will also ideally have experience of working with children/young people with a range of SEN. Additional experience of producing specialist resources for children and young people with sensory impairment and other SEN, is required. Ideally, you should have either a Braille or British Sign Language (Level 2) qualification, or be willing to undertake such training outside of the working day.
