Full Job Description

Here at St Stephens Infant School, we want to make learning fun, challenging and relevant, while engaging all children in a curriculum which builds on skills and experiences to prepare them to be leaders of the future.
This is a fabulous opportunity for a dedicated and organised person to join the school team at an exciting time as we merge with the Turner Schools Trust in September.
We aim to provide an encouraging atmosphere where children and staff can work together, learn from each other, and strive to achieve their best, guided by our key values. We actively encourage and support the development of all staff, in order to achieve the highest standards for all.
Right now, we have an outstanding opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant, who puts the children at the heart of everything they do.
Experience supporting children with additional needs is desirable, it is not essential; your numeracy and literacy will be of a high enough standard to support and extend children throughout the primary age range. You will be able to communicate effectively with children and adults, have a flexible attitude, a good sense of humour, and be friendly and approachable. Good time management and the ability to work on your own initiative are essential.
Responsibilities will include:
+ The 1:1 support of a unique individual with challenging behaviours across all areas of the curriculum
+ To work alongside the SENCO and other professionals to support the individual
+ Regular feedback and liaison with the class teacher
+ Keeping records of progress and behaviour
+ Working closely with other members of staff to give and receive support
+ Preparing resources and some administrative work
+ Following and implementing the school's behaviour policy and THRIVE ethos
This position is temporary until 31st August 2025 for 32.5 hours, working Monday to Friday (8:30am to 3.30pm). Term Time + INSET days. From September you will be paid on Turner Schools Academy Range 4+ £22,373 (£16,903 pro-rata).
Please note, we reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient applications for the role. Therefore, if you are interested, please submit your application as early as possible.
The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check along with other pre-employment checks which must be undertaken before the role is confirmed by the school.
Our Trust is committed to safeguarding, safer recruitment and promoting the welfare of pupils. Our comprehensive recruitment and selection processes aim to discourage and screen out unsuitable applicants. Successful candidates are subject to rigorous pre-employment checks.
Our Trust is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all staff and job applicants.
