Full Job Description
This role is critical in delivery of the Mobile P&L across the EE & BT brands. Business partnering with the accounting, trading and marketing finance teams as well as the Commercial teams in order to deliver ~£5bn Revenue & £2bn Direct Costs per annum
The role provides leadership in forecasting, budgeting and analysis and frequent temperature checks on performance driving corrective actions where needed.
What you'll be doing
Providing leadership of Commercial insights and analysis on Mobile Revenue and Margin performance
Lead in driving clear narrative for Mobile performance in month end reporting, outlooks incl Budget and key drivers for variances to official target and year on year performance
Ownership of forecasting & budgeting process and output for Revenue and Direct Margin for the Mobile brand, working directly with MDs and Directors
Lead the Mobile FP&A Team and challenge teams to ensure commercial understanding of drivers behind performance and any variances to Forecast
Lead in identifying process improvements across Consumer Finance and manage cross-team working groups to deliver improvements to drive enhanced levels of efficiency and effectiveness in Consumer Finance processes
Working collaboratively with Commercial Accounting team to align processes, improve accuracy and drive transparency in month end reporting and budget processes
Accountable for stewarding, leading and partnering with the business, ensuring all business activities are carried out in accordance with local legislative requirements, which enhance and protect BT for now and the future.
Substantial knowledge and broad experience in finance, covering a breadth of activities and best in class practices and policies ideally from a finance generalist or finance specialist role.
Advanced financial modelling (excel) skills - ability to build/manipulate detailed models to arrive at appropriate outputs/metrics to support decision making
Proven ability to influence and coach at MD / Director level and below and to build key relationships with appropriate business partners
Communication skills - translating complex financial outcomes to senior financial and non-financial stakeholders through both oral and written communication. Ability to tailor message to the relevant audience, distilling key messages without losing the appropriate level of detail
Ability to quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationships.
Able to identify issues, get to root causes through the use of financial analysis and insight to diagnose and solve problems
Bias towards bold and confident thinking, challenging the status quo where appropriate
Able to deal with ambiguity, identify resources to implement and determine pragmatic solutions
Proven coaching and line management experience with the ability to lead and motivate team members
