Full Job Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Executive Support Coordinator to provide high quality executive, administrative and corporate support to the Director of Income Generation and Engagement. This role has become available as a result of an internal promotion into the CHAS fundraising team.

You will be providing support to our Director of Income Generation and Engagement whose remit includes our award-winning fundraising and communication teams. This department moves at pace and requires an individual who is skilled in balancing competing demands whilst providing a high quality and comprehensive administrative service in a busy and challenging environment. You will have a unique combination of traditional executive assistant skills and the ability to adapt to the specific needs of supporting a director who happens to be blind. Please note that our director has a guide dog (the Dude) who is an integral part of the Team.

You will join a high performing Executive Support team, where you will work alongside experienced and supportive peers and management providing executive support to the Senior Leadership Team.

This role will ideally be based in our Head Office in Edinburgh. The team are currently working on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days onsite each week. You should also expect travel to our other CHAS sites as required. We would consider another CHAS site as a base location for exceptional candidates., In Scotland, three children a week die from a life-shortening condition. CHAS provides unwavering care for children who may die young, and their whole families. Our team of staff and volunteers work across two children's hospices, in community settings across the country, and in hospitals alongside NHS staff. We are there for families every step of the way, supporting them in life, death and beyond. Our ambition is that no-one should face the death of their child alone.

Our Income Generation and Engagement Directorate will be crucial in achieving that ambition and have big and creative plans on how to do that. It is an exciting time to join our team and this impactful role will directly contribute to the effectiveness of our leadership team.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, such as Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant or Administrator and will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Comprehensive Executive Support and Administration experience, including attention to detail and strong MS Office skills

  • The ability to operate flexibly and professionally in a fast-paced environment; you will be a team player with a positive, welcoming and can-do attitude who is able to respect confidentiality and work with tact and discretion

  • Planning, prioritisation and time management skills that enable you to manage busy diaries/workloads

  • Exemplary organisational skills with a creative effective approach to problem solving and the confidence to make decisions within the scope of the role

  • Experience of providing meeting support

  • Previous experience in the charity or healthcare sectors would be an advantage, as would experience of working with volunteers.
