Full Job Description

The directors are seeking to appoint an ambitious English teacher with a proven track record of success in the classroom. We are looking for a candidate with a love of teaching English, flair, drive and imagination to support the further development of the English curriculum particularly within Sixth Form. The successful candidate will work with our Head of Faculty to ensure that up to date and relevant research informs teaching and learning and curriculum within the department. The role will have a reduced teaching allocation to support the successful candidate work within the department to achieve these aims. 1 Catholic Ethos - To actively promote, and act as a role model of, the Catholic ethos of the school, in accordance with the school mission statement. 2 Particular Activities - To role model excellent standards of teaching and learning. - To remain up to date with research and latest developments in the subject area, using this to improve the curriculum and drive up the standards of teaching and learning in the department. - To support subject leader to continue to develop the curriculum intent for KS5, including sequencing, schemes of learning and wider school links. - Responsibility for development of a challenging and engaging SoL for A Level courses - Monitor and quality assure the teaching and learning amongst the 6th Form English teachers - Monitoring and tracking of student progress in 6th form - Develop strategies to help improve the independent learning skills of all 6th form students - To support the effective monitoring of and making improvements to the department curriculum implementation, including teaching and learning pedagogy and assessment practice. - To contribute to the department and whole school CPD based on the most relevant research. - To collaborate with external partners What the school offers its staff The school is proud to be able to offer a number of benefits to its employees including:
