3 Month Support Worker Secondment

We have 21 properties in the London Borough of Merton where we provide housing and support for people who were recently homeless and are now moving forward positively with their lives.

Our customers come with a range of support needs, such as those associated with mental health, care leaver status, probation, ex-offending, domestic violence, learning disabilities and asylum seeking.

The support for each customer is person-centred, requires creative energy and is hugely rewarding for colleagues as well as life changing for our customers. This role requires you to be available between 10am and 6pm Monday to Friday, you need to be able to work across multiple properties and provide varied levels of support to a caseload of at least 10 customers. These roles are unique as they:

Allow you to work Mon - Fri only. No weekend work involved.

No shift work, working from 10am - 6pm daily

Involve getting out and about and travel to various properties across the borough

Mean you can organise your own caseload in their own time via meeting and engaging with customers not just at the properties but also in and around the community e.g. have key work sessions at a local park or coffee shop etc.

Evolve is a leading homelessness charity in London, providing housing and support to over 1,300 people each year.

Our aim is to help children, young people and adults who are homeless or at risk of homelessness to become independent and resilient. We believe in building on people's strengths, aspirations and goals to help them break the cycle of homelessness.

We offer a programme of support tailored to meet people's individual needs, including housing, employment and skills training, mentoring and counselling. We work with young parents and children at risk of exclusion to build the skills and resilience that can help prevent homelessness. We campaign to end street homelessness. We build affordable homes to help people move on to an independent life.

We have two 3 Month Support Worker Secondment Opportunities in our floating support service based in Merton - Supported Housing South West. One role is full-time 37.5 hours and the other is 30 hours per week which can be worked over four or five days. We want to hear from existing Evolve colleagues who wish to develop their skills during the secondment period or from our Bank Workers who wish to enter into a fixed term contract for the period. As the roles carry a caseload they are paid at Support Worker rate of £14.21 per hour.
