You'll work alongside knowledgeable experts, collaborating across various fields on challenging and impactful projects that make a real difference. These placements could open doors to multiple career pathways within the Environment Agency and help kick-start your future career. During your placement, you'll receive extensive support, including pastoral care from your line manager, mentoring, and access to our staff networks, such as Black, Asian & Minority Ethnic, Autism & ADHD, LGBTQ+, and others. We provide access to a wide range of training and development courses to help broaden your skill set, ensuring you develop the critical competencies necessary for long-term success in your career. As a valuable member of the team, you'll be encouraged to challenge conventional thinking, explore innovative ways of working, develop strategies, and share your ideas-all while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Assessment Process - Behavioural-Based Assessment We assess candidates for our early careers' roles through behavioural-based assessments, proven to effectively measure aptitude and potential. Once you have applied online, you'll receive a link within 24 hours to complete the behavioural-based assessment. This includes several game-based tasks that are analysed and scored. You'll have the opportunity to practice the test before starting the assessment. Full details, including contacts for assistance and neurodiversity support, are available in the Additional Information pack. The team You will work with and learn from experienced and professional team members who will coach and mentor you during your Placement. Depending on location, you'll be active in different types of work and involved in the delivery of various projects, all of which will enhance your knowledge and skills.

Experience/skills required You will: have a genuine interest in the environment and be passionate about creating a better place for people and wildlife. be highly self-motivated and flexible in your approach and have determination to make positive change happen. demonstrate creativity and innovation within problem solving and possess the ability to work through problems. We are looking for applicants who are studying or recently studied a degree. You will need to be at the end of your second year of study or just completed your final year but will not have graduated before summer 2024. You could be in a role which helps you develop your: Leadership skills, inclusive behaviours, and relationship management Communication, resilience, and adaptability Problem-solving, innovation, continuous improvement, and the use of digital technology Corporate knowledge and sustainability awareness Eligibility criteria To be eligible for this Internship you will need to meet ALL the following criteria: Criteria 1 -You are a UK, Commonwealth or EEA (European Economic Area) national -You have the right to work in the UK Criteria 2 -You will have completed a minimum of two years of your degree in any subject

  • If successful, you will be required to give evidence of your qualification (expected or awarded).
