Full Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join our dynamic team in the Surgical Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit at Barnsley Hospital. As an ANP, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care to surgical patients, ensuring they receive prompt, efficient, and compassionate care. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team, utilizing your advanced clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and manage a variety of surgical conditions within the scope of your practice., Manage a clinical case to an advanced professional standard using specialist knowledge from theoretical and practical experience.

Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.

Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for patients presenting with acute surgical conditions.

Collaborate with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.

Perform clinical procedures within the scope of practice and competency.

Provide expert advice and education to patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Participate in the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and protocols.

Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the SDEC unit.

Maintain own professional development for a ANP

Registered Nurse with current NMC registration.

MSc in Advanced Practice or equivalent.

Significant post-registration experience in a surgical or acute care setting.

Advanced clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development.
