Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 3 Health Care Assistant to join our team. This is a permanent post for 22.5 hours per week (0.6 WTE).

You will be responsible for supporting your manager and colleagues in ensuring that service users needs are met through the delivery of safe, effective high-quality care. We are looking to welcome a professional and enthusiastic band 3 Health Care Assistant to join our team.

We are seeking an individual who is confident and self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The successful candidate must demonstrate a kind and compassionate attitude and have a desire to provide high quality and efficient care to women within the Gynaecology department.

We offer support and development, including a period of supernumerary on commencement of employment, department specific training and appraisals.

The Gynaecology Inpatient Ward is a six bedded ward, with an Early Pregnancy and Gynaecology Assessment Unit and Ambulatory Care Unit. We care for planned, emergency and outpatient activity 7 days per week., The successful candidate will be a valued member of the team. You will be involved in assisting the registered nurses under their supervision, in providing a high quality and comprehensive service to all patients and users, ensuring a high standard of patient care is maintained in a clean and safe environment.

Some key duties include

Recording clinical observations and completing risk assessment documentation and reporting upon their changes to the nurse in charge

Acting as a chaperone during patient examinations

Venepuncture and cannulation

Completion of digital documentation

Maintenance of the clinical environments

You will be expected to be familiar with and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures laid down by the Trust reporting untoward incidents and completing appropriate documentation.

Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, in sensitive and challenging situations.

You will carry out duties according to both local and national policies, procedures and guidelines.
