Full Job Description

  • Report to the Service Manager, providing 3rd line support to multiple customers in a busy Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment, adhering to customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

  • Act as a point of escalation and support for the 1st and 2nd line support teams.

  • Escalate complex issues to hardware/software vendors as necessary, ensuring timely resolution by the vendors.

  • Office-based role from Monday to Friday, with occasional travel to customer sites for on-site support, installation, configuration, and project support work.

  • Varied role requiring knowledge of multi-vendor hardware/software products and solutions (on-the-job training provided).

    Ideal for an experienced 2nd Line Engineer looking to advance to a 3rd line role, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

  • Microsoft qualifications (specifically Azure/365) are desirable but not essential; willingness to undertake training and certification is a plus.

  • Essential knowledge and experience with Azure and Office 365.

  • Strong knowledge and experience with Windows Server, Hyper-V, VMWare, Active Directory, Exchange, Desktop Operating Systems (PC and Mac), networking (LAN/WAN/SD-WAN/Wi-Fi), and Storage/SAN infrastructure.

  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and keen attention to detail.

  • Ability to produce quality documentation to assist the 1st and 2nd line support teams.

  • Confident and friendly telephone manner.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small, close-knit team with a positive attitude.

  • General interest in current and emerging IT technologies is a plus.

  • Full, clean UK driving licence and own vehicle (insured for business use) are essential (mileage reimbursed at HMRC rate)., Eastbourne, BN21 3AW: Must reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)., GCSE or equivalent (preferred), Technical support: 5 years (required)
