Full Job Description

o To plan and deliver a highly specialist psychology service (in leadership or advanced therapy role) and to oversee its clinical governance.o To be responsible for the professional leadership and continued development of a team and/or service area.o To be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate policies, protocols and care pathways.o To ensure that the needs of people with protected characteristics are addressed within local services and future developments.o To demonstrate highly specialist expertise and specialist psychological skills such as specialist psychological assessments, formulation, therapeutic interventions and consultation to support people with complex needso To act as supervisor/teacher in teaching, facilitating and supporting pre-registration students and junior personnel and to participate in the audit of educational placements. To participate in new staff induction.o To research national best practice and enable services to benchmark

The post holder would be working with adults who experience severe and enduring mental health difficulties. In particular, people with complex trauma, personality disorder and psychosis.

You would be working with friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary teams who greatly value the skills and expertise of our Clinical and Counselling Psychologists. Knowledge of working with high risk, complex mental health difficulties and experience in group therapy work and project work would be essential. Training and experience in an evidence-based trauma therapy and CBT is essential. Training and experience in third-wave CBT models such as ACT, DBT, CFT would be desirable.

Please note that the work days are ideally Tuesdays and Wednesdays., practice against nationally recognised standards - in partnership with people who use services and carers.o To lead in developing and conducting clinical audit and research, maintaining current knowledge of research findings and development within the relevant area of practice.
