Full Job Description

Adult Mental Health (AMH) Services assess and treat people aged between 18 to 65, offering a wide range of recovery focussed, evidence based interventions across both Inpatient and Community Care settings.

How we support people when they are in crisis or have urgent needs plays a key role in achieving both of these aspirations.

Specialist psychological practice is an essential part of all Adult Mental Health Services and includes providing specialist assessment and formulation, evidence-based psychological therapies and psychological support to the rest of the service, including consultation, supervision and facilitation of team processes. This is delivered by qualified and professionally accredited Psychological Professionals embedded in multi-disciplinary teams throughout the directorate. Psychological Professionals also undertake research, audit and quality improvement activities and deliver teaching and training as core parts of their professional practice., The post holder is an essential member of the Senior Leadership Team. Associate Clinical Directors/Strategic Leads, together with the Clinical and Service Directors, are responsible for the clinical and professional leadership of the directorate, holding particular responsibility for a professional discipline or area of practice. This post will provide professional leadership for Psychological Professions and clinical leadership for psychological practice across Acute Care

The post holder will provide strategic leadership and be responsible for the psychological aspects of policy development for Acute Care within Adult Mental Health Services.

As the Strategic Lead for Psychological Professions, the post holder will lead on the strategic, operational and clinical direction for the development and delivery of psychological practice across Community Care, which comprises of Psychology, Psychotherapy and Psychological Therapies.

In collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team, to create a culture of compassionate leadership, in which staff understand their responsibilities and are inspired and enabled to provide excellent care.

To ensure that services are evidence based and outcomes focussed, with opportunities for innovation supported by research and evaluation.
