Full Job Description

Role holders will be responsible for teaching, and related teaching administration, at both undergraduate and postgraduate taught levels. For the senior lecturer level the role will entail leadership in developing and overseeing, teaching programmes at all levels (including new courses and programmes). They will make a significant leadership and/or management contribution in the area of learning and teaching. They will contribute to the delivery of high-quality education in AI at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and undertake academic leadership roles.

You should apply if experience in teaching AI (or a strong desire to do so for lecturer level). You should have (or expect to have) a PhD that is related to AI research. We are seeking future leaders in their field and so we are looking for people who can demonstrate their leadership potential.

We are seeking to make a teaching focused (known as Pathway 3 at the University of Bristol) academic appointment in the area of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Whilst this is a teaching focused position, as a research intensive university that teaches cutting edge techniques in this rapidly evolving field, we welcome applicants with a research track record in one of the following AI specialisms Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models, Distributed and Collective Artificial Intelligence, Reinforcement Learning and Multi-agent Reinforcement Learning or alternatively, from candidates innovating with AI in domains such as Medicine and Healthcare, Robotics and/or Autonomous Systems, or Computational Neuroscience.
