Full Job Description

A postdoctoral research associate position is available to work in the Lennox Lab (www.LennoxLab.com) to work on the development of novel synthetic electrochemical reduction methodologies.

The successful candidate should have a PhD in Chemistry or have submitted their thesis prior to taking up the appointment. They will have a keen interest and enthusiasm to expand their expertise into new areas and in unfamiliar disciplines, to work on high risk/high reward projects, and to work beyond the traditional boundaries of organic synthesis both independently and through collaboration. The candidate will have extensive expertise in organic/inorganic synthesis and extensive expertise and experience in hypervalent iodine chemistry, organic electrochemistry and computational chemistry. The candidate will be comfortable in the safe handling of toxic and hazardous materials, and be proficient in the accurate characterisation of complex organic molecules. They will have excellent communication and organisational skills, and will be capable of working under their own initiative. They will be expected to interact productively with other members of the research group working on related
projects.
