Full Job Description

As part of a significant initiative, the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is recruiting a Student Academic Success Coach to be part of an existing team of Academic Success Coaches.

Supporting our students to achieve their educational aspirations you will need to be committed, enthusiastic and able to provide personalised support to students. Delivering proactive coaching and mentoring support from the start of their journey and throughout their first year of study. You will be someone who thrives on the success of others and is committed to understanding how students can be supported in their studies.

A degree in the Health and Social Sciences and experience in supporting others in an educational setting would be a significant advantage but other relevant experience will also be considered.

You will be trained and supported from the start and be part of an exciting new initiative. You will be working across our campuses managing your own time around student's availability so flexibility is key. You will work need to work collaboratively with teams across the university and become the critical link between our services and your assigned students.

+ Provide guidance coaching and support to students on study skills, time management, and academic planning.
+ Monitor students' progress and support them in understanding their feedback on assignments and coursework.
+ Connect students with resources and support services on campus as needed, such as tutoring, counselling, and career services.
+ Assist students in developing personal and professional skills, such as goal-setting, networking, and leadership development.
+ Provide support for students', and refer them to appropriate resources as needed for their mental and emotional well-being.
+ Collaborate with faculty and staff to identify and support students at-risk of none completion.
+ Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student interactions and progress using IT systems such as learner Analytics.
+ Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in coaching and student success.

This position is full time and will require some evening and weekend hours to accommodate students' schedules.
